Poor Man's Caracara

Yesterday, while driving through Highlands County, G. H. spotted a cooperative Northern Caracara. Risking life and limb (mine), he pulled off of the highway and began clicking. My longest lens at the time was 200mm, so this is a severe crop.

Caracaras are predominantly found in Central and South America. The Northern Caracara can be found in several Florida counties, including Highlands. Or, so says Wikipedia.

This is under the Ringling Causeway Bridge, on the south side. The path is well traveled by walkers and dogs.

Embarrassing

Embarrassing that I do not know the name of this flower. Embarrassing because I was at Selby Botanical Gardens, and the name was probably on a sign, somewhere.

Sarasota Panorama

This is my first panorama produced in Photoshop CS4. It really HAS become easy. The four shots were hand held.

While working on yesterday's image, I intended to invert a mask to black (control i), but inadvertently inverted the image. I like it!

Morning Glory

This flower is on a vine at the Rookery. I think that it's a Morning Glory.

For me, white and yellow flowers are difficult to capture. Even if they are not "blown out", detail is often lacking.
