Fresnel Lens

This is the inside of the Fresnel Lens of the Tybee Island Lighthouse, near Savannah.

Photobucket

I estimate that the two light bulbs are about 4X12 inches, and the Fresnel is about six feet in diameter. The optics of the Fresnel make the light visable for over 20 miles. Impressive!

In The Marsh

The Georgia coast has miles and miles of marshland that looks like this in the early morning.

On this particular morning, spider webs were numerous and nicely lit.

I cropped out the bottom half because the background was green - not so striking.
