Gaudi
Architect Antonio Gaudi (pronounced "gawdy, and the origin of that term) designed this, er, "unusual" cathedral. Construction began in 1882, and is nowhere near completed now.
Gaudi seems to have never met a straight line or simple curve that he liked.
Scaffolding and construction cranes are, presumably, not part of Gaudi's vision.
