Air Cat
This "Air Cat" sits within this foliage - in a tree. I took several shots, and this is the only one that is sharp. There are so many close leaves that the focus sensor did not focus on the cat. Leaves in focus with a blurry cat just doesn't get it.

You probably have your Area Mode (Focus) set to Dynamic Area instead of Single Area. With single area you can focus on the cat then by using the AE-l/AF-L button, recompose the picture.
